Reviews from others about the brilliant Navy Pier...
Beautiful location
We had gorgeous weather and enjoyed eating lunch outside at an open air patio of one of the restaurants along the pier. It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed strolling down the pier. It was the beginning of the Tall Ships Festival so the ships were coming into port so there was lots to see. Inside, the stained glass museum was absolutely incredible to see. So many beautiful creations to look at, so much history! This is a wonderful place to visit to just have a relaxing stroll (if the weather is good!)
Eventful Pier
The card made getting our cruise tickets on Navy Pier easy. I really wish we had gone mini golfing. That would have added to our time gap nicely. We loved the Stained Glass Museum. It was so pretty and cool to walk through. Navy Pier offers some amazing views and really is fun to walk around. There are many different places to buy touristy-like gifts. Every restaurant we went to was fantastic: Bubba Gumps and Jimmy Buffett’s!
Great place for all to visit
Great for all the family. It has everything bars, food, rides for children - and the BUBBA GUMP SHRIMP COMPANY!!! I was looking for Tom Hanks !! We were very lucky whilst we were there as we had the privilege of seeing the Air Show from the pier - fantastic. All the Boat rides go from the pier so its a great attraction and everyone needs to visit it.
Go during the week if at all possible
The Navy pier was awesome, many different things to do, and lots of dining choices however you should try to take the free trolley offer by the city of Chicago or take a cab there otherwise you will be walking a very long distance from the closest train stop, also if all possible you should try going during the week instead of the weekend so is not so crowded and you don’t have to wait in line for ever to do anything, and it gets really cold and windy at night even on summer time and also beware of spiders on Ferris wheel.
Great views
We walked around and checked out some of the small shops. We saw the new Star Trek movie ("Into Darkness") in IMAX 3D. So cool. It's a nice theatre. Lots of restaurants and a nice food court, too. Great view of the city. Nice relaxing place to walk. But we watched the fireworks from the observation deck in the Hancock Center.
